Heights of Style

As the savvy fashion follower will have noticed, this year's Autumn Winter trends seems to be all about turning your wardrobes to the traditional, and very British, sartorial ideas. From 50's tea-length skirts, to sheepskin jackets, to camel coats and Fair Isle knits; this is set to be a season that (unusually) focuses on comfort in high-fashion.

But one continental style trend has triumphed amongst this traditional renaissance. The over the knee boot, which is a trend that started last year, is back in a huge way. Such are the flattering qualities of the style, that ladies aren't waiting for the Winter season to start wearing their beloved boots in earnest. Walk down the street and take a look...odds are that despite it being only just September, the over-knee boot is in evidence on all ladies of fashion.

There was a time when over-knee boots were seen as risqué and you'd have been hard-pressed to find a woman that appreciated their leg-lengthening and slimming qualities. Now, though, with risks being taken more and more in the fashion arena, the secret is out!

Contrary to most women's thoughts, all ages can wear these beautiful long boots. The skill to wearing it is in the design. Stilletto heels and patent platforms are out, whereas subtle tones, flat well-shaped feet and textures can add barrels of class. As the heels have been getting lower the legs have also been getting higher; the over-the-knee shape that is the frontrunner this year is the 'wader'.

Intimidating as the title sounds, luxury brands such as Chloe, Fendi and Jimmy Choo have really hit the nail on the head with their wader style boots. Chloe's dark leather waders (top right, £865) really work the new season utility trend, Keith Scarrott Shoes have these fabulous winter-taupe waders for just £299.95 (top left) , which look amazing with shearling jackets.

Fendi have used the belt to great effect in their over the knee style (bottom right, £920). The same detail is used subtley in Keith Scarrott's show-stopping black studded pair for £299.95 (bottom left). So it seems whatever your signature style; from boho to classic chic to rock-chick, the new style is one to watch out for!

Ultimate Urban Luxe

Now that the Sales are done and dusted and the weather has turned (much too soon for our liking!) all experienced shoppers are turning their fashion-forward eyes to the new Autumn Winter styles flooding the shops.

As sad as we are that Summer seems to be over, the fabulous new boots arriving on our doorstep have more than made up for it! The biggest trends of the catwalk have been turned into some incredibly stylish and wearable creations for the Winter season.

The style that has really had the 'WOW-factor' this Autumn is the urban rock look. However, instead of the heavy soles and roomy fit of the classic utility style, the boots this season have a punch of glamour that sees laces, buckles, platforms and sky-high heels enough to seduce any shoe lover.

This look has been seen on Catwalks from Erdem to Moschino to Gucci. Particular favourites of the fashion-pack have been from the late Alexander McQueen; these buckle trim boots, top picture £845, have been featured in many worldwide publications. Keith Scarrott's Italian leather buckle ankle boots, 2nd picture £199.95, have proved just as popular amongst our clientele!

The lace-up boot is also a feature of many designer styles this year and one of the hot favourites has been strutting up the Alaïa catwalk; in a funky hiker-style they cost a cool £1,000 (third picture). Keith Scarrott's have the same fabulous trend in our £159.95 platform lace-up boots (bottom picture).
